Help Animals Get Shelter or Medical Care

World Society for the Protection of Animals - Support rescue organizations and shelters worldwide. I am a monthly supporter, they do an amazing job!

Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre - In Peterborough, rescue and rehabilitate native turtles, mostly ones that were hit by cars. Most turtles get injured while crossing roads between their feeding sites, their nesting sites, and their overwintering sites. The shelter gets flooded with injured turtles during the summer and most of the turtles need a few months to heal and recover.

Please visit their website and learn how to help injured turtles!

The Farley Foundation - Provide financial assistance for eligibale people who cannot afford a medical procedure or emergency care for their pets. Many veterinary clinics will make a symbolic donation in the name of their clients' pets when the pet passes away.

Specialized Services

Wassenaar Pet Cemetery - In rural Hamilton. This is a christmas tree farm with a small area designated for a pet cemetery. It is near a small pond surrounded by trees. It is very beautiful and tranquil. My dog Buffi is buried there and I am comforted by being able to go to visit her. I know many people prefer to keep their pets' ashes, but I wonder, what would happen to the urn if something happens to me? or when I am gone? This way she has her own resting place. Even if some years from now something happens to the cemetery, she would be long decomposed and part of Earth naturally.
